Storms we will not soon forget. Most of us have been affected by one or more
of these storms in past years. Meteorologists’
predictions for 2013 include potential for more severe weather.
We live in a country with seeming endless resources. What do we do if faced with water shortages,
utility outages, or evacuation? While it
is impossible to prepare for complete devastation; we can ready ourselves with small steps.
Dollar stores and discount retailers offer a variety of
non-perishable food, water, batteries, and flashlights. You can easily add items to your family’s
disaster kit without breaking the bank. Hardware
stores should have inexpensive tarps and rope.
